Thinking out loud series

Hello folks, in this series, yours truly will be thinking out loud and expressing deep feelings on issues of humanity. These are just my humble thoughts and no one should take my words for it, but if it interests you, your views and comments are welcomed. I am a strong advocate for freedom of speech but when push comes to shove, I'd rather we agree to disagree, rather than go to war over personal opinions. With that said, welcome to my page, sit tight and prepare yourselves for a smooth and rough ride because yours truly will try and always keep it real....Here we go !!!

POWER CORRUPTS

Over the years, humanity has relinquished or given so much power to a group called the government and a few people called religious or spiritual leaders.

The same people we trusted with our freedom and liberty have turned out to be our worst tormentors and oppressors. Makes one wonder why we have allowed these man-made institutions dictate how we should live out our lives here on this earth.

Come to think of it, if you didn't give me life, you shouldn't control my life, just like I don't have any right to control your life.

However, if we accept to have governments and religious leaders, and they set up systems to help and develop our lives, we should have the choice or prerogative to accept or not. In this case, we are obliged to follow their directives and decisions on our behalf.

If humanity must survive, too much power must not be vested on a group of individuals, especially aging old men whose lives are already spent. As they say, "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" .....
